The Detroit Tigers, after starting 2008 at 0-7, are 5 games back in the AL Central entering Friday. They have won 7 out of their last 10, while the Chi Sox have played .500 baseball. The Joe said that "Granderson is the key", and Curtis must have been listening as he went 4-5 last night to help spoil Pujols' return to action. Sheffield's back as well, and will hit (because that's what he does). Oh yeah, they also have one of the best manager's of all time in Jim Leyland at the helm. Keep and eye on this team post All-Star break... it's only a matter of time before they take the spot they were basically handed in the preseason... #1 in the Central. Hae not heard from the Joe in several days - a lock on the series that did not happen is not enough to stop sport nuts like us - if the Joe wants anymore cool towels whe he plays for the mighty Atlanta Diamondbacks he better be blogging!!!!
Good Post!!! I will say it again, the Tigers were my pick to go to the series, against the Braves of course, which are only 3.5 back in the East. But with that pick, we sometimes don't have enuff patience with our picks, hince the awful start. We are smart baseball men and women here, and I need to stick with my instincts more in the future and be patient. That said, the line-up is just unfair, straight nasty, and pitching as well is right. I am glad to see their leadoff man is back and healthy, Speedy G is huge. Another aspect, is that of their Chemistry; with all of those ego-maniacs on the squad, I am glad they are getiing better and are under controlled by Jimmy for the most part. Sheff seems like a big A-Hole, but whatever, he still mashes. What about D-Train getting demoted to A ball a few weeks ago, good convo right thur!!! A Major League slap in the face and cahones if you ask me! He needs to looks at Glavine and Moyer. You can not have a butt crazy, hurky jerky, think your warren spahn type deliever and mechanics, and think you can get the job done. Your getting old, your body can't do that anymore, besides its stupid. Slow it down, keep it simple, fundamentally sound. It's Slow, Smooth, and Steady Baby!
