We are basically 2 crazy kids out of Atlanta, GA with very solid sports backgrounds and opinions. This is the first step in our taking over the airwaves - the blog!
The Pro - former minor league pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization and college standout for Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Mr. All American, leader of the pack, blessed with the gift of gab... also a part time DJ.
The Joe - your average 9 to 5 employee, who spends way to much time on the internet and listening to talk radio. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention he's also the most funadamental second baseman to ever put on a jersey and has more sports knowledge than that guy they call the Schwab - DO NOT TEST HIM!
You will hear a lot from us coming in the near future. We accept all criticism and feedback. Always up for a good debate. Hit us up! Don't be shy! We talk sports all day, every day!

"Dropping Benjamins, Not Dimes"
Benjamin of the day:
The 2008 Major League Baseball player draft completed yesterday with high hopes of young high school players being responsible at 17-18 years old, holding their end of their contract, and moving into a brutal business of playing professional baseball or optioning to not sign and attend a good college program, praying you stay healthy, not become a liability, nor get sucked into the fast lane of the college experience. You know what I mean, and in the end, hopefully improving their draft status, which ultimately means more money. "It's all about the Benjamins"--Biggie Smalls once preached. High school players represented 32.2 percent of the players drafted this year, the lowest since 32.8 percent of the players selected in 1987 came from the prep ranks.
And the percentage doesn't figure to increase much, if at all, in the near future. Why? It doesn't surprise me to find that the numbers are going that way. The reasons, quite simply, are the changes in the rules regarding the draft-and-follows. Ball-Clubs are drafting more college players, because they are more advanced and mature, not to mention a better return the majority of time. Ball-Clubs today are less willing to have patience with the younger players, because they lose organizations money compared to the collegiate players, so why do so many high school kids go so early in the draft, you would rather see them go later and give the college players the benefit becasue their make up is better. They have put in the time. What would you do if your were drafted out of high school or how would you tell a player to handle the situation? Take the money? This could be your only shot, are you ready, are you mature enough to handle it, are you coachable, can you hang with the big boys and be consistent? Go to college, learn, get better? It's an extremely risky investment, with a lot of unanswered questions, and I hate guessing, and I am a stock trader. Go figure. If I had it to do over again, and I had the opportunity to get drafted out of high school and play pro-ball, it would be a dream come true, why pass it up. I would choose the Benjamins and hope I could stay out of trouble, learn, work hard, listen very well to my teammates and coaches, but I still don't let nor like people telling me what to do, but that's just me.
I think that this is one of the best ideas since implants and the rule 5 draft. I love talk radio but get tired of the "played up" debates and how everyone has to yell to feel like their opinion is important. (See Skip Bayless and Stephen A.) I will definitely spread the word. Test for Joe!
1. What player, what team, what year have hit walk off home runs to win a world series?
2. What was the last year the world series was not played?
I know these off the top of my head for a reason. I am awesome!
Even though this question does not pertain to deion sanders or the miracle season of 1991, i figured you should know both of them. Let me know if you are really "average".
Keep up the good work.
My answer would be, off the top of my head:
Bill Mazeroski Pittsburgh Pirates 1960 Game 7
Joe Carter Toronto Blue Jays 1993 Game 6
1994 was the last year a World Series was not played.....
Thanks for the support.....
Warren Morris hit one to win the College World Series for LSU against Miami in 1999.....
