Quick Weekend Update

Start with the NBA Finals, I realized one thing this weekend, and I guess we didn't see it all playoffs because they were winning, but the Lakers are soft little whiny babies. It is hard for Kobe to score when he has to babysit Luke Walton, those 2 foreign guys, Pau Gasol, and the biggest baby of them all Lamar Odom. I am rooting for the Lakers because I hate them the least, but the Celtics are extremely tough, and get this they know that defense will win the championship. Posey is one of the toughest players I have ever seen and he makes Odom and Gasol look like wimps. Cry me a river Odom, in your interview after the great first half in Game 4, the announcer asked you "what your TEAM was doing different", and you answered well I am going to the rack more, and I am player better defense, and I am the man.....she asked you how the TEAM was doing better. It showed in the 2nd half that you are a complete fraud. I feel so bad for Kobe and Phil. Final thought on this, why is Lamar Odom always part of trade talks, and why has he been on so many teams?

Ok, now to an inspiring sport, golf, wow what a weekend. I could not take my eyes off the US Open. I think I watched every shot Tiger took from Friday on, what a player, and what a stud. Guess what, it is not over yet, I get to watch a playoff today starting at noon, power power lunch. Woods on one leg held off the field and caught Rocco Mediate on the last hole to force the playoff, with one of the best clutch putts I have seen. Tiger hit so many clutch puts this weekend, I began to wonder if he was even human. I can not wait to watch this playoff.

The Braves played well this weekend, except on national television, I think the Braves are the worst ESPN team of all time, don't know the stats but I can remember a game a few years ago when Cal Ripken's Orioles beat us by like 20 on Sunday night baseball. Chipper is now in a slump and without him hitting we could be in trouble. I am going to stick with my previous post about how the Braves were going to win the next 4 series and be right back in the chase, but it would have been nice to sweep the Angels and move within 5.5 of the Phillies, but no we laid an egg, looking a lot like last year, whenever we needed a win, we never got the win.

about the playoffs - not too sure about things now - refs in court - say it aint so Joe - as a hometown girl that watched Pistol Pete and Sweet Lou in every game played at Tech Colleseum and most games at the Omni (certainly a different breed of player back then if there were thugs I never met them - as someone that dated Don Nelson (yes Im that old) and dont forget - when you travel with Nelson, Dave Cowans, John Havlichek, JoJo White and Don Cheney everybody in sight buys you drinks and you are on top of the world and it never occurs to you that they arent winning on their own - I still think that back then they were winning on their own - anyway I am rooting for the Celtics just for old time sake - cant get into Kobe ( and this is from someone that loves a cocky player) Go Celtics!!
