Toronto Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi... His words to a radio caller who inquired about acquiring the heavy hitting Dunn:
"Let me ask you something. What do you know about Adam Dunn?. He's a lifetime .230, .240 hitter that strikes out a ton and hits home runs. Do you know that the guy really doesn't like baseball all that much? Do you know the guy doesn't have a passion to play the game that much? How much do you know about the player? There's a reason why you're attracted to some players and there's a reason why you're not attracted to some players. I don't think you'd be very happy if we brought Adam Dunn here."
Really? Really? First off, Adam Dunn is closer to a .250 hitter than he is .230 (.247 to be exact). Second, the guy has 256 career homeruns (including 40+ over the past 4 seasons). His 6 season average over a 162 game season shows Dunn at .247 40hr 96 rbi. You questioned his work ethic and his desire to play baseball. Who are you?
YOUR Blue Jays are 35-39 and have lost 5 in a row. YOUR Blue Jays wouldn't benefit from a guy who is on pace to 42 hr and drive in 100 runs? Really? Really?
Shut your face!
