There are 4 times a year where I can not get enough golf and that is the 4 majors. Generally it puts me in a tailspin where I end up taking off half days at work for months at a time to go hit the links at my favorite courses around Atlanta. While the majors are on during the workweek I tend to take what I would call a power lunch, I am allotted an hour, but it seems that I take about and hour and half, ooooohhh. I cannot get enough of this golf, I love it. The only thing, my wallet takes a beating when I have to play golf for the next few months because I have an addiction. Luckily, I hurt my back a few months ago and haven't played much, but I have a bad feeling after Phil pulls out the US Open I am going to want to risk back surgery just to break 90.
This year's open is being held at a public course in beautiful San Diego, California, and boy would hate to be there where it is 75 and sunny everyday of the year. The field is strong, and Tiger has returned from knee surgery after a month or so hiatus. As for yesterday's play everyone looked a little tentative and scared to make the big mistake, and those who weren't scared were the ones shooting in the 80's. By the way Tony Romo shot an 84 prior to the 1st round, that is pretty good on this course, the greens are slick and the rough is like 9 feet high. The US Open seems to always have an American underdog lead after the first few rounds, but the underdog usually succumbs to the pressure and the best players usually rise to the top of the leader board.
I can't wait to sit with my dad on father's day and watch the drama unfold at Torrey Pines, and if you are a dad have a wonderful father's day.

Sorry about your boy Lefty this weekend Pro and the Joe. ten over or something, I lost count. Just playing, I like Lefty. I enjoy the US Open. Its a lot more exciting and better to watch than the Masters, or maybe its just because Tiger is back and making a bug run. I was watching the third round today, and I have never seen Tiger so pooped before, He actually looked like a real human. He looked exhausted, walking 72 holes is no joke after knee surgery. Have you guys ever walked 18? Damn. I'm sticking with the cart fee. My pick was Geoff Ogilvey (hes 4 back of Tiger, one over, after Tiger's eagle on 18), I am going to stick with my pick, even though Tiger doesnt lose to often on Sunday. You think Tiger or golfers in general use the Juice? Just Saying....OH YEAH, the GA game in the 9th....WOW!!!
