1. Chris Wells RB Ohio State - Huge game against LSU in the title game. The Buckeyes will dominate the Big 10 again and as the wins add up, so will votes for Wells.
2. Pat White QB West Virginia - will lead another solid Mountaineers team to yet another BCS bowl. He will run and throw his way to many Heisman votes! How many years has this kid been playing? FYI - was also drafted in the MLB Amatuer Draft.
3. Chase Daniel QB Missouri - his team won't have quite as much success as last year, but his stats will be as good. A finalist in '07, I see him there yet again in '08.
4. Percy Harvin WR Florida - The Ted Ginn of 2008 - man they should let this guy return kicks! Most explosive / exciting player in college football. I think it's enough to get him to NY for the ceremony.
5. Stafon Johnson RB Southern California - The Trojans will win and win big this year (as usual). This guy will be the table setter for the high scoring USC offense, their Reggie Bush if you will. The Heisman committee loves Southern Cal players!

Where is Tebow?
No repeat winners, repeat winners are whack... Sorry!

Archie Griffin....
I didn't say there weren't any... just not on my list! I'm sure he will be there, since Florida will go undefeated, but wanted to give some props to a few different guys. It's too easy to pick Tebow. Got me?

No Knowshon? Damn, he is on EVERYBODY'S short list. What do ya'll know that they don't?
Is it safe to say that the guys who run this blog are officially UGA haters?
I actually like Knowshon and think he will probably be in the mix. With all the Caleb King hooplah, it's hard to think he won't get a good bit of Knowshon's touches. Less touches (to me) = less votes. I think the SEC (plus the non-conference schedule) is too tough to dominate on half the touches. The Pro
actually root for the Bulldogs, just think the Georgia fans are jumping the gun a little....you didn't make the SEC Championship last year, what makes you better this year?
To answer your question, hopefully without being called ignorant or a homer, everyone knows we lost the SEC b/c of the UT and USC losses.
Both came early in the season. Richt hadn't yet felt comfortable making Knowshon the #1 tailback (calling 4 straight passes, 2 of which were dropped TDs, in the red zone instead of passing it off to Knowshon after he ran all over USC's D literally lost that game). Mike Bobo had just started playcalling. The receivers were dropping balls left and right, and a young O-line was showing their lack of inexperience.
At some point -- some say the Vandy fumble recovery, some say FL - everything gelled, and I doubt anyone will seriously contest that UGA was the most dominant team in the country the second half of last year.
This year, the Dawgs keep virtually everyone of significance, that O-Line is another year older, the D is stacked, Caleb King comes in so opposing Ds don't get much of a breather when Knowshon sits (and I can't wait to see some 2-back sets). Also, keep an eye on AJ Green and Tavarres King. Those guys are supposed to be sick.
I guess another way to answer the question is to flip it around - UGA finished #2 in the nation last year. What happened that makes them worse this year?
