No Les Miles? No Saban (points off for the NFL stint, I'm sure)?

Surprised Bowden comes in so high. He's one of the greats all-time, no doubt, if not the greatest.

But in the BCS era, he only has the one championship. His assistants like Richt left after that season, and they've lost every other BCS game since. And they really made those BCS games just by virtue of winning the weak ACC. Bowden is little more than a figurehead nowadays and way past his prime, IMO.

agree with you on Bowden,(figurehead) but how do you leave off a man that coached in 3 straight National Championship games....Les Miles 1, Nick Saban 1, don't get me wrong they are close, but no there yet...

No, I'm with you on Bowden all-time, but only one of those NC was technically in the "BCS era." That's my only sticking point. If you generally mean just last 15-20 etc than I'm with you.

My statement was the Bowden had coached in 3 straight NC's, and those were in the BCS Era...The BCS has been in place since 1998, 1998-99 played Tennessee
1999-00 played Virginia Tech
00-01 played Oklahoma....

So he has coached in more than Miles and Saban in the BCS Era...
