Blast from the Past

This would be a great story if it was written in 1996.....

The White Sox are trying to acquire Ken Griffey Jr, from the Reds for some prospects. Kenny Williams, hello, let me help you with this one, you have enough outfielders, your starting three are better than Griffey, you have two DH's in Konerko and Thome. Yes, Konerko is old and having a bad year, but Griffey is no spring chicken. I am pretty sure that you have no room for a 38 year old outfielder/DH who is way past his prime. Hey, you do what you want with your prospects, but this is a questionable move, especially with what you gave up to get Swisher. Ozzie has said time after time that he has faith in Konerko, so this would go against your manager. The only thing I see is Swisher moving to 1b and Konerko sitting on the bench, but he is huge part of your clubhouse, so this might be more trouble than it is worth. Very confusing to me......

Well this looks to be a done deal. I just got a text message from a former Padre's minor league teammate of mine (now with Chicago), that Griffey has OK'd the deal and will be joining the team as early as tomorrow. I'm with you Joe, I don't see this one causing anything but problems for Chicago. Sorry Konerko, looks like your AB's just got snatched! The Pro

Yeah, a starter is def. losing their job. Thats baseball, but still gives the squad more complete options. Im lovin it. Griffey deserves to be on a contending team. Go White Sox! They have some of the best personalities on one team in awhile. I would love to play for them even though I think the GM is a real DOUCHE...
