The Hawks should be embarassed with losing their crucial piece off the bench to a team overseas. Are you telling me that playing for Mike Woodson is this bad? Bad enough where you would take a little more money and forgo playing for an up and coming playoff team in the NBA on your home soil. Well Josh Childress (pictured above) has done just this. Now the Hawks have to go out and get a solid replacement. Left on the bench is now Acie Law, Speedy (Mike Hampton) Claxton, Jeremy Richardson, Salim Stoudamire, Solomon Jones and Mario West. I suggest making an enticing offer to restricted free agent Luol Deng, because none of the above are difference makers. Oh yeah, and signing Josh Smith has now become more vital than ever.

I cant think of anything i would not do for 7-8 million a year - well maybe one thing - ?live in greece? be a big star? see the word? play my sport? ummm sounds like a winner to me
Win for Josh, big time L for the Hawks. Def a step in the wrong direction. The Pro
what the, Childress is the heart and soul of the Hawks, we are back to square 1....booooooooo Hawks...
Agreed all the way around.
Are there even any good FAs we can go after to replace him? Who will step up as the new Hawks 6th man?
I've heard Luol Deng's name thrown around. A "Dukie" (you should like this Noba) and pretty solid player. Also Andre Iguodala (who I don't think would be too happy with a 6th man role). Thing is that both of these guys are retstricted FA's so we would have to make an insane bid on either and hope their team can't match it. I say let's roll with Deng. The Pro
If the Hawks didn't fork over the money for Childress and they haven't yet made a legitimate offer for JSmith, there's no way in hell they're going after Deng (also a RFA).
I give the Hawks brass a 0% chance of turning this into a quality transaction.
