The crap that is "The Sporting News" magazine has predicted my home town Atlanta Falcons will finish at 1-15 in 2008. 1-15? Really? The Falcons play 12 teams in 2008 who put up a losing record in 2007. New coach Mike Smith has a great plan in place - run the ball (Michael Turner, pictured above) and stop the run. You read the Joe's predictions for this year - 9-7 and fighting for a wild card playoff birth. This is definitely a better prediction than 1-15 (Joe please don't leave me and go write for Sporting News, or better yet, please do and take me with you!). Come on man, the Falcons play KC at home (they are awful with no QB), the Bears at home (again awful with no RB or QB), at Oakland (who now have Darren McFadden, but remember the Falcons now stop the run - so terrible)... the list goes on and on! I even see the Falcons beating division rival Carolina 2X this season (sorry Big Ben). Sorry sporting news, but Pro and the Joe are here to help your terrible NFL writers. Oh yeah, start Matt Ryan and get rid of Joe Horn. Ryan just needs to hand the ball off to Michael Turner until he is comfortable. The Pro

1-15 is truly a slap in the face, but wait, its from a reporter or columnist who has probably never even played the game before and is just guessing. A guess!!! I do think if your doing what you are saying their going to do Pro, and keep it simple, and go back to the basic fundamentals of football. Run the ball, and stop the run, then they should be able to compete and hopefully win. They will have their work cut out for them though. Remember, its the teams that are not giving a chance, thus making them play with a chip on their shoulder. Those teams show people up. The Dirty Birds are not called Dirty for nothing. But don't think for a second that they will sweep Carolina. 8-8 (or as I like to say in golf, Double Dog Balls...
Seriously. 1-15 is ridiculous. This team is NOTHIGN like the Bobby Petrino trainwreck of last year. The Mike Vick story was fresh and no one respected the coach. Smith will have ingrained a totally new attitude into this young bunch and I look for us to have a decent season this year and continue the turnaround with the development of Matt Ryan. 9-7 may be ambitious, but I don't see why we can't win 7 games with two of those coming against the Carolina Panthers.
With the schedule we have 1 and 15 is a joke - I think Matt Ryan will do great and for the money he's being paid I want him out there - not learning - on the job training is the way to go - for the new face of the falcons I want to see your face!!!
WIthout the DOG-KILLER ,The Falcons will fly!
10 and 5 ,take this to Wachovia and put it there!
ALOHA
Ok Pro, The Falcons will not go 1-15. That's too much! If so, I recommend that the Pro sell his season tix.
That sounds about right the Falcons are bottom of the barrel of the NFC and especially NFC south. Like it or not the organization has no clue how to put a winning team together. This is the Tampa Bay Bucs division this year, choices made by teams in NFC south have placed Bucs in first place without a game played.
Enjoy grab your pewter and eye patch because it's Tampa with the control.
Bucsrule if you honestly think that the Falcons will go 1-15 then you need not post on the site again. The NFC South is mediocre not tough, so I don't know where you get off saying that nonsense, and the Bucs might be the softest team in the NFL....every year it is the same old story, get to the playoffs and lose, kind of reminds me of the Braves. Isn't this the year the inconsistent Bucs don't make the playoffs...but then in 2009 they win the division again, that is how the Bucs story goes....
