As I was laying down to go to bed Sunday night I was watching the ESPN line to see the scores of all the games, and to see if Brett Favre was going to report. Then came some really sad news, Skip Caray had passed away in his sleep Sunday afternoon. At first I was in shock, just the other day he was eating pizza with Joe Simpson and goofing off like they always do on Braves broadcast. He had come over from the radio because he had heard that Joe was not going to let Skip have any pizza, but Skip being Skip came over and took whatever he wanted and went on his way. Then I was terribly saddened, because I grew up listening to his voice night after night. I will never forget his calls of Sid Bream's slide, and the winning of the 1995 World Series. It was tough to fall asleep because I was in shock, I knew he had health problems, but did not expect this so soon. He will be missed, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. It is going to be tough to tune into 94.9 and not hear his sarcastic voice. A fan from heaven just caught that foul ball......

There was none better! Thanks for the memories! R.I.P. Skip! The Pro
I sat right behind him at every hawks broadcast at Alexander Memorial Coliseum for years as well as also falling asleep at night to his bravescasts - he was the best - rest easy - you will be missed
I was at the Sid Bream game, yet even when I replay it in my head, I can't remember it without hearing Skip. His call was THAT perfect, that even though I didn't hear it till the next day, it's become a part of that memory.
