Being a huge hockey fan and Atlanta Thrashers fan, I am excited about opening night at Philips tonight against the Capitals. The Thrashers had a horrible off season especially with ticket sales, the season ticket renewal rate was only 40%, the rest of the league is laughing at Atlanta. Fans are not happy, including me, with the direction of the organization, especially the ownership and GM. The Atlanta Spirit would be better suited to own a carnival than two major sports teams. With all that said I am optimistic that we can make a run at the playoffs if our young talent can gel together. The team has made some moves in the off season to add depth, but no real scorers or exciting players, which we desperately needed to help Kovalchuk. The Thrashers have also added a minor league coach who has won championships, our minor league team, so maybe he can get our young players that he has coached before to win. The fact of the matter is if Don Waddell GM does not win this year I want his head, and hopefully we can turn it around before the Thrashers become the Manitoba Muscle.....
Oh yeah, those red jerseys are the new third jersey, blah blah.....hey instead of getting new jerseys ever year why not put a competitive team out on the ice.....

Those jerseys are disgusting. Wow, probably the ugliest jerseys in the NHL, on par with the old school Astros. I love the Thrashers too, but we have no chance. Horrible front office, we have no chance. At least the Hawks drafted a few good players, the Thrashers have drafted 2! (I'm holding opinions on the new guy until we see him play). Its a shame Ilya talent is going to be wasted away again this year. For his sake, we need to trade him or get better talent around him. Fire Waddel.
